About Vibrant Solar

Vibrant Solar is a Colorado owned designer-installer of photovoltaic electric systems. With offices in Denver and Pueblo, we operate throughout Xcel Energy and Black Hills Energy territories plus in most other parts of Colorado. With our partners we also install off grid systems, solar thermal (hot water) systems and geothermal systems.

Vibrant Solar is a growing, customer-oriented company, currently with a staff of 30+. This includes three to five installation crews depending on season, giving us the capacity to install three or five projects per week.

Vibrant's sales have exceeded 250 projects, over 2,000 kilowatts, or 2 Megawatts of systems in just under four years. We developed and sell a full renewable energy system for new homes and retrofits called the Zero Carbon System™. We are now the sole installer for Helios Solar's SunCube™ concentrated solar photovoltaic product, with the highest efficiency available at 31%.

Vibrant Solar is the sole authorized PV installer for HomeSmart from Xcel Energy(sm). HomeSmart is Xcel Energy’s appliance repair division, offering great service for an annual membership fee. Vibrant installs all photovoltaic systems for HomeSmart. If you want the long term support of a 100 year old division of Xcel backing your installation, choose HomeSmart Solar.

History

Vibrant incorporated in 2006, after Amendment 37's passage made solar PV affordable. The four founders have backgrounds in green building, construction and software development. They applied their talents to create the right team, with the right tools, for expert design and installation. Two became the first staff members, selling and installing. The company began aggressive expansion in April 2007 with the hiring of a Marketing & Sales Director and Office Manager. With steadily increasing sales Vibrant added staff rapidly.

During summer 2007 Vibrant Solar expanded our operations to commercial building installations. We now install on homes, commercial buildings, apartment buildings, and condominiums. In late 2008 we expect to also begin installing on schools and other non-profit buildings. Given suitable sunlight, which we can measure for you, we can install on nearly any building. We can also install ground-mounted systems.

In April 2008 Vibrant Solar became the sole PV installer for HomeSmart from Xcel Energysm. As a result Vibrant expanded operations to most parts of Colorado.

In Spring 2009 Vibrant began working to establish an office and full time operation in Pueblo, to serve southern Colorado. That office opened in September.

The first half of 2009 was difficult for Vibrant, as it was for the entire US solar industry, due to the worst recession in decades. Vibrant trimmed staff and lasted it out. In July sales began to rebound and August was a banner month, with sales of over 600 kilowatts in this one month. The near term and future look bright and Vibrant is again looking toward the future. Our new SunCube™ CPV product with double the output of standard flat solar panels, is on the leading edge of a revolution in solar technology.
